The recent surge in leaks about the Pokemon universe has come to a halt, with those responsible for the revelations opting to retreat from the online space for their own protection. They conveyed that remaining active while Nintendo hunts for them is simply unwise, and they also criticized fellow leakers for spreading questionable information before their withdrawal.
The extensive Pokemon leak, which allegedly disclosed the source code for an upcoming title related to the origins of the entire gaming universe, appears to have concluded for now. Following a data breach at the development studio, the online community was flooded with claims, but the individuals disseminating this knowledge are now choosing to step back. As stated in a message circulated online, one anonymous source indicated that even though they feel secure, continuing to be online would not be prudent. The abrupt change in stance may stem from the escalating risk of facing legal repercussions from major entities like Nintendo or Game Freak.
This leaker expressed that there is no motivation to maintain their account, emphasizing that fame or financial gain were not their priorities. Reports also reveal that discussions within online forums are beginning to vanish, with one account reportedly on the verge of complete deletion. Nonetheless, it has been asserted that the flow of leaked information is not entirely finished, with promises of future disclosures based on the validation of the provided information.
Interestingly, prior to their exit, one leaker took the opportunity to denounce others for allegedly peddling misleading information. They claimed that a certain individual was notably misleading, asserting that a substantial portion of their claims from the previous year was inaccurate. They further advised others not to put faith in that particular leaker's assertions.
Despite the chaos surrounding these leaks, Game Freak has yet to officially respond. Earlier statements indicated that personal information had been breached as a result of unauthorized access to their servers in a previous month.
With record sales surpassing 99 million copies on the Nintendo Switch, it appears that the Pokemon franchise has successfully integrated itself into that gaming platform.
